Michael Riemer

Michael Riemer is an Adjunct Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley. His research focuses on the static and dynamic evaluation of soil properties, constitutive behavior of sands, and the liquefaction of unusual soil. He teaches the graduate-level course Advanced Geotechnical Testing and Design (CE273) and assists with the undergraduate course Geotechnical Engineering (CE175). Riemer works directly with students at all levels on independent experimental research in the geotechnical laboratories. His research includes the assessment of porewater pressures in saturated soils during seismic loading and their effects on engineering properties.
