Khalid M. Mosalam is the Taisei Professor of Civil Engineering and Director of the Pacific Earthquake Engineering Research Center at the University of California, Berkeley. His research interests include structural health monitoring using vibration-based and vision-based techniques, experimental methods such as hybrid simulations, assessment and rehabilitation of essential facilities, and earthquake engineering. His work also addresses energy-efficiency in buildings and sustainability of structures. Mosalam's research spans concrete, masonry, steel, and wood structures, with applications in bridge engineering and the performance of critical infrastructure.
