Khalid Kadir is a Continuing Lecturer of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley. His research focuses on the complex role that engineering expertise plays in the politics of international development and poverty alleviation, with an emphasis on the intersection of poverty, expertise, and politics. Kadir teaches courses in the Global Poverty & Practice (GPP) program, Political Economy, and Civil and Environmental Engineering. He is affiliated with the Blum Center for Developing Economies. His research interests include engineering pedagogy, water and sanitation, and poverty action.
