Maria Laura Delle Monache

Maria Laura Delle Monache is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley. She holds the title of Clare & Hsieh Wen Shen Distinguished Professor in Civil & Environmental Engineering. Her research interests include traffic flow modeling, transportation systems, and traffic control. Dr. Delle Monache’s work focuses on understanding the implications of technology on transportation systems, with an emphasis on building mathematical models and control strategies to assess the impact of new vehicular technology on traffic congestion, emissions, and transport access. She previously served as a research scientist at Inria in Grenoble, France, and a postdoctoral fellow at Rutgers University - Camden.
