Stuart Linn
Regular biography
Stuart Linn is Professor Emeritus of Biochemistry at the University of California, Berkeley, in the Department of BIO. His research focuses on enzymes and DNA binding proteins involved in DNA damage responses, DNA repair, and replication in mammalian cells. He investigates DNA polymerases, the generation of DNA damage by reactive oxygen species (ROS), and the signaling mechanisms of the DNA damage response. His work includes the study of proteins that recognize DNA damage and mediate repair, transcription, cell cycle arrest, or apoptosis. Linn's research also explores the properties of DNA polymerases in various cell states and their roles in DNA synthesis. His publications address oxidative DNA damage, DNA repair mechanisms, and the molecular basis of DNA damage responses.
