About
Regular biography
Caroline Kane is a Professor at the University of California, Berkeley, in the Department of BIO. Her research focused on understanding gene expression control in eukaryotic cells, particularly the transcription elongation process. She studied the molecular details of the transcribing complex during elongation and its biological effects, using model systems such as Saccharomyces cerevisiae RNA polymerase II and hepatitis C virus RNA-dependent RNA polymerase. Dr. Kane has retired and is no longer taking students or postdoctoral fellows.
