Robert Tjian

Robert Tjian is a Professor of Molecular Therapeutics Euk at the University of California, Berkeley, in the Department of BIO. His research focuses on eukaryotic molecular biology, including biochemistry, cellular differentiation, chromatin structure and function, RNA synthesis, single cell-single molecule imaging, high throughput genomics, cryo-EM, and disease mechanisms. His work explores transcriptional control, chromatin regulation, and the molecular basis of stem cell pluripotency and differentiation. He utilizes advanced techniques such as single molecule measurements, structural biology, and super-resolution imaging to study these processes. Tjian's research also addresses disease mechanisms, including cancer, viral infection, and developmental disorders.
