Donald Rio is a Professor of Biochemistry at the University of California, Berkeley, affiliated with the Department of BIO. His research focuses on nucleic acid transactions, particularly the mechanisms of transposable DNA element mobilization and the regulation of alternative pre-mRNA splicing by RNA-binding proteins. His work explores the role of transposons in genome evolution and human disease, as well as the molecular processes underlying splicing regulation.
