Regular biography
Matthias Peter is a Professor in the Department of BIO at ETH Zurich. His research focuses on Cell Growth and Division, specifically investigating the regulation of these processes through selective degradation mechanisms. His work explores the coordination of metabolic pathways, ribosome biogenesis, protein translation, and catabolic pathways such as autophagy and ubiquitin-dependent degradation. Additionally, he examines the mechanisms of chromosome duplication and segregation during mitosis, as well as the signaling pathways that regulate these processes. His research group's website provides further details on their studies of cullin-based E3-ubiquitin ligases and autophagy pathways.
