Fred Allain

Fred Allain is a Professor in the Department of BIO at ETH Zurich. His research focuses on the Structural Biology of Protein-RNA Interaction in Health and Disease, with an emphasis on understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying genetic disorders such as Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), Myotonic Dystrophy (DM), and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). His lab employs Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy and interdisciplinary approaches to study protein-RNA complexes and their role in gene expression regulation.
