Katrin Beyer is a Full Professor at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), affiliated with the CE department. Her research focuses on seismic engineering, masonry structures, and structural dynamics. Beyer studied civil engineering at ETH Zurich, earning a diploma with distinction in 2001. She later obtained a Master's degree in earthquake engineering from the Istituto Universitario di Studi Superiori (IUSS) in Pavia, Italy, and a PhD from the University of Pavia in 2007. She joined EPFL's School of Architecture, Civil and Environmental Engineering (ENAC) in 2010 as a tenure-track assistant professor and founded the Earthquake Engineering and Structural Dynamics Laboratory (EESD).
