Anastasios Vassilopoulos

Anastasios Vassilopoulos is an Adjunct Professor at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), affiliated with the Department of Civil Engineering (CE). His research interests include offshore renewables, materials and joints for wind turbine rotor blades, and experimental methods for composite materials. He is the Head of the Composite Mechanics group (GR-MeC) and a member of the Structural Engineering Group. Vassilopoulos has held various positions at EPFL, including Adjunct Professor and Senior Scientist, and has contributed to numerous research projects funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation and other organizations. He teaches courses on advanced composites, structural mechanics, and floating offshore renewables.

Anastasios P. Vassilopoulos is a Senior Scientist at Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne, specializing in the fatigue of composites, fracture mechanics, life prediction, and structural design. His work also addresses the mechanical behavior of adhesively bonded joints and the effects of aging and temperature on composite materials. Vassilopoulos's research contributes to the development of fatigue design allowables and structural reliability in composite structures.
