Meng-meng Fu

Meng-meng Fu is an Assistant Professor of Cell Biology in the Department of Molecular and Cell Biology at the University of California, Berkeley. Her research focuses on glial function at the animal, cell, and molecular levels to elucidate mechanisms of normal development and disease progression. Her lab investigates the role of Golgi outposts in acentrosomal microtubule nucleation in oligodendrocytes and the partner proteins that work with the microtubule nucleator TPPP to organize microtubules. Additionally, her work explores mRNA transport in oligodendrocytes and its importance in myelination, as well as mechanisms of leukodystrophies, cytoskeletal organization in astrocytes, and blood-brain barrier failure in vascular dementia.
