Jennifer A. Doudna is a Professor of Molecular Therapeutics RNA at the University of California, Berkeley, in the Department of BIO. Her research focuses on understanding and harnessing RNA-mediated control of the genome, including CRISPR-Cas bacterial adaptive immunity and related systems. Her work explores the mechanisms of CRISPR-Cas systems, their applications in genome editing, and their potential for therapeutic use in diseases such as Huntington’s Disease and glioblastoma. Doudna's laboratory also investigates the structural and functional properties of CRISPR effectors, aiming to improve and expand their utility in genetic research and medicine.
