Robert T. Clemen is Professor Emeritus of Decision Sciences at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. His research focuses on Decision Models and Decision Analysis, with particular interest in the psychology of judgment, assessing expert probabilities, and the effectiveness of decision-making techniques. He has taught courses on decision making and environmental sustainability across various Duke MBA programs. Professor Clemen is known for authoring the widely-used textbook 'Making Hard Decisions,' which has been recognized as Best Publication in 1991 by the Decision Analysis Society. His work includes consulting for corporations, utilities, and government agencies on diverse topics such as environmental policy and nuclear waste storage. He has also served as founding co-Editor-in-Chief of the journal Decision Analysis and has published over 50 scholarly articles. Prior to joining Duke in 1995, he was a faculty member at the University of Oregon’s Lundquist College of Business for 11 years.
