Regular biography
Ethan Fang, Ph.D., is an associate professor of Biostatistics & Bioinformatics and an associate professor (secondary appointment) in the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. He is affiliated with the Rhodes Information Initiative. Previously, he was an assistant professor of Statistics at Penn State University. Fang received his PhD in Operations Research and Financial Engineering from Princeton University, where he was advised by Han Liu and Robert Vanderbei, with Jianqing Fan and Mengdi Wang on his committee. Before Princeton, he earned his bachelor's degree from the National University of Singapore, where he completed his undergraduate thesis under the supervision of Kim-Chuan Toh. Prior to college, he attended Chengdu No.7 High School.
