Robert Nau is a Professor Emeritus of Business Administration in the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, where he was a member of the Decision Sciences area. His research focuses on mathematical modeling of decision-making, particularly under uncertainty in games and markets, as well as decision models and statistical forecasting. He has taught core MBA courses on Decision Models and Statistics and developed an MBA elective course on time series forecasting. Nau also designed forecasting software incorporated into a commercial statistical analysis package and a regression analysis add-in for Excel, which has been widely adopted for teaching. Prior to his academic career, he worked as Manager of Information Systems for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company.
