Regular biography
NAKAYAMA Shoei is a faculty member in the Department of Physics at The University of Tokyo. His research focuses on experimental particle and astroparticle physics, with an emphasis on neutrino studies. He is involved in experiments using the Super-Kamiokande detector to investigate the universe's matter-antimatter asymmetry and its evolution. He leads a group preparing for the Hyper-Kamiokande, which includes constructing a large underground cavern and a 260,000-ton detector water tank. His work involves neutrino beams from the J-PARC accelerator and naturally occurring neutrinos from atmospheric and cosmic sources.
