About
Regular biography
AIKAWA Kiyotaka is a faculty member in the Department of Physics at The University of Tokyo. His research focuses on levitated optomechanics and atomic and molecular physics, with an emphasis on cooling the motion of particles such as nanoparticles and atoms to ultralow temperatures. His work explores the quantum nature of mesoscopic objects using laser-trapped nanoparticles and develops techniques in laser physics for these studies. The lab is part of the worldwide network on levitated optomechanics, LeviNet, and investigates applications such as accurate accelerometers and macroscopic quantum mechanics.
