Effective September 1, 2026, EECS will not participate in the MIT dual degree program and will not accept any requests or petitions. However, for current prospective graduate students in preparation or planning to complete the dual SM degree with EECS, we will accept complete petitions until August 31, 2026. The EECS Dual Degree Admissions Committee will consider these submitted petitions for admission and hence participation in completing the SM degree in EECS. Admission decisions will be available by September 11, 2026. The materials that are required and the process for submitting a petition (deadline Aug. 31, 2026) is found here .
