Regular biography
Zhaoyu Li is a Faculty member in the Department of Astronomy at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. His research focuses on galactic dynamics, galaxy formation and evolution, with an emphasis on observational and numerical simulation methods. He has conducted studies on the Milky Way's structure and dynamics, including the discovery of significant differences in the spatial distribution of dynamically hot and cold stellar orbits using Gaia DR2 data. Li has also investigated the X-shaped structure in the galactic bulge and contributed to the theoretical modeling of galactic bulges. His work has been published in several astronomical journals, and he has participated in international galaxy surveys, such as the Carnegie-Irvine Galaxy Survey.
