Regular biography
Yichen Zhang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Astronomy at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. His research focuses on stellar formation, particularly the formation of massive stars, using observational techniques such as infrared, submillimeter-wave, and radio observations, along with numerical simulations. His work explores topics including protostellar accretion and feedback mechanisms, binary and multiple star system formation, star cluster formation, chemical evolution, and star formation in the galactic center and low-metallicity environments. Zhang has held positions at the University of Virginia, the Institute for Physical and Chemical Research in Japan, and the University of Chile before joining Shanghai Jiao Tong University as an associate professor.
