Wenjie Wan

Regular biography

Wenjie Wan is a Faculty member in the School of Physics and Astronomy at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He is affiliated with the Institute of Optical Science and Technology and jointly appointed by the Department of Physics. His research interests include Nonlinear Optics, Nanophotonics, Quantum Optics, and Plasmonics. Dr. Wan received his B.E. from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2004 and Ph.D. from Princeton University in 2010, both in Electrical Engineering. After postdoctoral training at Yale University, he joined UM-JI as Assistant Professor. His work has been published in Science, Nature Physics, Nature Photonics, and Physical Review Letters. He is the recipient of the 2009 Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-Financed Students Abroad and was awarded the '1000 people’s plan (youth)' in 2011.
