Guorui Chen

Guorui Chen is a faculty member in the School of Physics and Astronomy at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. His research focuses on condensed matter physics, particularly in two-dimensional materials and their van der Waals heterostructures. He earned his BSc from Shandong University in 2010 and his Ph.D. from Fudan University in 2016, under the supervision of Prof. Yuanbo Zhang. From 2017 to 2020, he worked as a postdoc fellow at the University of California, Berkeley and Lawrence-Berkeley National Lab. In 2020, he joined Shanghai Jiao Tong University as a tenure-track associate professor. His work explores novel electronic states in materials using advanced fabrication and measurement techniques.

Guorui Chen is a researcher in Condensed Matter Physics with a focus on 2D Materials. His work explores the electronic and magnetic properties of graphene and related materials, including graphene/hBN heterostructures, moiré superlattices, and black phosphorus. Chen's research investigates phenomena such as superconductivity, correlated insulators, topological valley transport, and quantum oscillations. His studies also address the synthesis and transfer of high-quality graphene films and nanostructures for advanced electronic applications. Through experimental and theoretical approaches, Chen contributes to understanding the fundamental physics of 2D systems and their potential in next-generation technologies.
