Maarten Vos

A/Prof Maarten Vos is an Associate Professor in the Department of PHY at The Australian National University. His research focuses on the interaction of high-energy electrons with matter and the development of spectroscopic tools to test this understanding. Specific areas of interest include the electronic structure of materials, recoil effects in electron scattering, high-energy electron spectroscopy, thin film analysis, and spectrometer development. Vos studied experimental physics at Groningen University, earning his PhD in 1987. He held post-doctoral positions at the University of Minnesota and the University of Western Ontario before joining the Electronic Structure of Matter center at Flinders University of South Australia in 1992. Since 1998, he has continued his work at The Australian National University.
