Regular biography
Weiping TANG is a Distinguished Professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, affiliated with the Department of CHEM. His research focuses on solid oxide materials in liquid phases, particularly chemical or electrochemical insertion/extraction, and ion exchange reactions, with applications in lithium ion adsorption materials and solid-state lithium batteries. His work includes studying manganese-based lithium ion sieve materials and developing solvothermal Li+/Na+ exchange methods to create high-performance solid-state electrolytes. He has held various academic and leadership roles, including part-time positions at the Shanghai Frontiers in New Energy Power Technology Research Institute and the Shanghai Civilian and Military Dual-Use Technology Promotion Association.
