Regular biography
Nannan DENG is an Associate Professor in the Department of CHEM at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. She holds a tenure-track position and has been affiliated with the university since 2026. Her research interests include protocells, artificial cells, synthetic cells, photofluids, soft active matter, coacervates, liquid-liquid phase separations, liposomes, vesicles, micro/nano-robotics, microfluidics, and bottom-up synthetic biology. She has published extensively in leading journals such as Angewandte Chemie International Edition, Nature Chemical Engineering, and Advanced Materials. Her work has been recognized through various awards and honors, including the Thousand Young Talents Program of China and the Future Scholar in ChemE award. She is also actively involved in mentoring and teaching at the university.
