Regular biography
Dr Zbigniew Stachurski is a Distinguished Professor in the Department of PHY at The Australian National University. His research focuses on advanced materials and composite structures, with publications in areas such as digital image and volume correlation, X-ray scattering, and nanocrystalline diamond thin films. Dr Stachurski has contributed to the development of methodologies for deformation and damage characterization in fibre-reinforced composites. His work includes collaborative studies on thermoplastic composites and their mechanical behavior under various loading conditions. He is affiliated with the Physics department and actively engages in research and academic outreach.
