Richard O. Young is a Teaching Professor of Business Management Communication, Emeritus, at Carnegie Mellon University's Tepper School of Business. He holds a Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon (1989), an MA from the University of Arkansas (1979), and a BA from Hampden-Sydney College (1974). His research and publications focus on persuasive communication and business communication. He has contributed to various university service roles, including serving on committees and judging case competitions. His work includes the publication of 'Persuasive Communication: How Audiences Decide' and 'How Audiences Decide: A Cognitive Approach to Business Communication.'
