Ludovic Rapp

A/Professor Ludovic Rapp is a Senior Fellow at the Laser Physics Centre (LPC) at the Australian National University (ANU), where he leads the High-Power Laser group. His research focuses on laser innovation, advanced laser processing, next-generation laser cleaning, and the formation of super-dense material phases using ultra-intense laser pulses. Rapp's work includes the discovery of two new high-density phases of silicon, published in Nature Communications. His research interests also encompass laser trapping, complex laser beam formation, and laser-matter interactions under extreme conditions. He has contributed to several ARC projects and European Framework Programme initiatives, and serves as the Laser Safety Officer at ANU.
