Francesco Iachello is the JW Gibbs Professor Emeritus and Research Professor of Physics at Yale University's Department of Physics. His research focuses on Theoretical Physics, with notable contributions including the development of the interacting boson model of nuclei, the introduction of supersymmetry in nuclei, and the vibron model of molecules. His current research interests involve quantum phase transitions, double beta decay, and algebraic theory of clustering. He has authored several publications in leading physics journals and has received numerous awards, including the Eugene Wigner Medal and the Enrico Fermi Prize.
