Jiayi Qin

Dr Jiayi Qin is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Australian National University, affiliated with the Centre for Gravitational Astrophysics and the Quantum optics group. Her research focuses on optical physics, including optomechanics, optical manipulation and metrology, quantum optics and quantum optomechanics, signal processing and controls implementation, gravitational research, and fundamental theory testing. She completed her undergraduate degree in Physics from Nanjing University in 2011 and earned her PhD from the University of Western Australia in 2016. Qin worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Australian National University from 2016 to 2021, contributing to an ARC Laureate Fellowship project on precision laser levitation for quantum metrology and gravitational sensing. Since 2022, she has been involved in developing optical instrumentation for precision interferometry, supporting gravitational-wave detection initiatives such as LIGO, space-based missions, and third-generation detectors like NEMO.
