David Pulford

Dr David Pulford is a Distinguished Professor in the Department of PHY at The Australian National University. His career began with DSTG as a Cadet Research Scientist, where he completed his PhD in Applied Physics at ANU in 1994. Since then, he has worked on diverse projects spanning optical sensing, communications, acoustics, and quantum technologies. He also held a long-term attachment at the Laboratory for Physical Sciences at the University of Maryland in the late 90s. In 2016, he was awarded a Chief Defence Scientist Fellowship to explore compact atomic clocks and entanglement-based synchronization. He has also engaged in outreach through the Science Mentors ACT program, mentoring students in quantum technology and radio astronomy.
