Jesús Fernández-Villaverde is the Howard Marks Presidential Professor of Economics at the University of Pennsylvania's Department of Economics. His research focuses on macroeconomics and econometrics, particularly the computation and estimation of dynamic stochastic general equilibrium (DSGE) models. His work addresses the evaluation of likelihood in non-linear and non-normal DSGE models and explores their implications for economic activity, asset pricing, and small open economies. He is a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) and a Research Affiliate at the Centre for Economic Policy Research.
