Regular biography
Dr Alasdair McLean is a Departmental Visitor in the Department of PHY at The Australian National University. His research focuses on nuclear physics and accelerator applications, specifically within the Nuclear structure group. Dr McLean is involved in projects related to the CYGNO directional dark matter detector, including the investigation of radon-induced backgrounds through event-by-event simulations and alpha particle signatures. He collaborates with researchers such as Dr Robert Renz, Marcelo Gregorio, Dr Lindsey Bignell, and Professor Gregory Lane.
