Christopher D. Ittner

Christopher D. Ittner is a Professor of Accounting at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School, where he is affiliated with the Business School (BUS) department. His research interests include cost accounting, intangible assets, and performance measurement. Professor Ittner's work explores the design and performance consequences of performance measurement and cost management systems. He has published in leading academic journals and serves on the editorial boards of several accounting and operations management journals. He teaches undergraduate and MBA courses in management accounting and has received MBA teaching awards. His research has been recognized with awards, including the American Accounting Association’s Notable Contribution to Management Accounting Literature Award. He holds a BS from California State University, Long Beach, an MBA from UCLA, and a Doctorate in Business Administration from Harvard University.
