Barry Luther-Davies

Professor Barry Luther-Davies is an Emeritus Professor of Laser Physics at The Australian National University, affiliated with the Department of PHY. His research interests include photonics, nonlinear optics, laser physics, optical physics, and glasses and optical materials. He has contributed to mid infrared photonics, nonlinear optical materials, and devices, particularly in optical signal processing. He is associated with the Australian Research Council’s Centre of Excellence for Ultrahigh-bandwidth Devices for Optical Systems - CUDOS. He is a Fellow of the Optical Society of America and the Australian Academy for Technological Sciences and Engineering, and a senior member of IEEE. He was awarded the Pawsey Medal of the Australian Academy of Science in 1986 and was an ARC Federation Fellow from 2003-2008. He has published over 500 peer reviewed papers and conference proceedings with around 14,000 citations.
