Aviad Levis

Aviad Levis is an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto, affiliated with the Department of Computer Science, the David A. Dunlap Department of Astronomy & Astrophysics, and the Dunlap Institute for Astronomy & Astrophysics. His research focuses on computer vision, computer graphics, machine learning, scientific imaging, inverse problems, and AI4Science. He leads the PI-Vision group, which develops computational imaging tools for scientific discovery, integrating artificial intelligence and physics. His work spans astronomy, Earth observation, and the physical sciences, supported by various grants. Previously, he was a postdoctoral researcher at Caltech and earned his Ph.D. from the Technion.
