Mikko Haataja is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Princeton University. His research focuses on theoretical and computational materials science, physics of materials, and physical biology. Current work includes studies of microstructure formation during solid-solid phase transformations and solidification, growth of electrodeposited thin films and quantum heterostructures, dynamics of driven interfaces in the presence of mobile impurities, recrystallization kinetics, signaling in cells, and regulation & self-organization of "lipid rafts" in the plasma membrane.
