Richard Henley

Dr Richard Henley is a Professor at The Australian National University's Department of PHY. His research focuses on hydrothermal processes and their exploration, with an emphasis on high temperature gas plus solid reactions and applications of high resolution X-ray microCT to industrial and natural processes. Henley has made significant contributions to economic geology and geothermal energy, including involvement in gold discoveries and consulting for UNESCO and UNDP. He has received the Haddon Forrester King Medal for life-long achievement and the National Emergency Medal for support during the 2019-2020 Bushfire Emergency. His work includes publications in journals such as Nature Materials and Journal of Volcanology and Geothermal Research.
