John F. Brooks II

John F. Brooks II is an Assistant Professor of Molecular Biology in the Department of Molecular Biology at Princeton University. His research focuses on circadian clock regulation of host-microbe dynamics, particularly how the circadian clock interfaces with the immune system to maintain harmony with the gut microbiome. His lab explores how persistent gut infections override circadian clock directives, leading to continuous secretion of antimicrobial proteins. This work may inform therapies for disorders linked to circadian disruption, such as obesity and chronic gut inflammation.
