Regular biography
Associate Professor Eugene Gamaly is affiliated with the Physics Department (PHY) at The Australian National University. His research focuses on high temperature and high-density plasma physics, laser fusion, ultra-short laser-matter interaction, laser-induced phonon excitation, phase transformations and ablation, nanocluster formation in laser plume, and the generation of high pressure and super-dense materials through confined micro-explosions induced by tightly focused laser beams. His work includes collaborations on projects such as ultra-high density optical memory and the formation of super-dense materials within transparent solids.
