Chiara Sotis

Chiara Sotis is an Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Department of Economics at Northwestern University. She holds a PhD from the London School of Economics, awarded in 2023. Her research focuses on behavioral, environmental, and health economics, with an emphasis on how individuals process information and form policy preferences. She designs theory-informed experiments and surveys to explore cognitive economics and the use of complex information in decision-making. Sotis collaborates with the OECD's SWACHE working group and has contributed to international policy changes in the EU through her economic valuation studies. She is also passionate about teaching (micro)economics and engaging students in applying economic models to real-world scenarios.
