Ricardo Caballero

Ricardo J. Caballero is the Ford International Professor of Economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an NBER Research Associate. He was the Chairman of MIT's Economics Department from 2008 to 2011. His research focuses on macroeconomics, financial economics, and international economics. Caballero has published extensively in major academic journals and has received several awards, including the 2002 Frisch Medal of the Econometric Society, the Smith Breeden Prize by the American Finance Association, the 2014 Brattle Group Prize, and the 2022 Banque de France-Toulouse School of Economics Senior Prize. He was elected a Fellow of the Econometric Society in 1998 and a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2010.
