Raghda Abdel Khaleq is a Postdoctoral Fellow at The Australian National University, Department of PHY. Her research focuses on nuclear theory and dark matter direct detection, specifically obtaining nuclear form factors for DM-nucleus scattering rate calculations and quantifying uncertainties from nuclear structure modelling. She applies the spherical shell model to various isotopes relevant to direct detection experiments. Raghda has collaborated with experimentalists at the University of Toronto and theorists at the University of Melbourne. She is also interested in science communication, art-science bridges, and promoting equity in science. She received the 2023 ANU Robert and Helen Crompton Travel Award for a collaboration trip to the University of Toronto and has been recognized for her outreach efforts.
