Mohamed A Meguid

Mohamed A Meguid is a Professor and William Scott Research Chair in the Department of Civil Engineering at McGill University. He serves as Chair of the Department of Civil Engineering and holds a P.Eng., Ph.D., F.CSCE, F.EIC. His research focuses on geotechnical engineering, infrastructure resilience, and sustainability, with an emphasis on buried infrastructure, geosynthetic engineering, and transportation geotechnics. His work integrates experimental investigation, numerical modeling, and field applications, with engagement in industry-driven problems and knowledge transfer. Professor Meguid has held senior academic leadership roles at McGill University, including Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education and Associate Dean for Student Affairs in the Faculty of Engineering. He is a member of the Trottier Institute for Sustainability in Engineering and Design and currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of Geotechnical and Geological Engineering.
