Minh Bui

Minh Bui is an Associate Professor HDR Convener Computational Science at The Australian National University's School of Computing. His research focuses on computational phylogenomics, bioinformatic methods and algorithms, statistical models, and high-performance computing for phylogenetic inference from ultra-large genomic data. Bui leads the Computational Phylogenomics Lab, where his team develops tools for evolutionary research, including the widely used IQ-TREE software. He co-develops IQ-TREE, which has applications in studying the origin of life and detecting COVID-19 variants. Bui holds a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics and has progressed through various roles at ANU, including Research Fellow, Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, and Associate Professor.
