Maia Guell

Prof Maia Guell is a Professor of Economics at the University of Edinburgh, School of Economics. Her research focuses on unemployment, gender differences in the labour market, the study of inheritance using surname information, and school choice. She has explored the impact of labour market regulations on outcomes and firms' personnel policies. Prof Guell holds a PhD in Economics from the London School of Economics and has held academic positions at Princeton University, Universitat Pompeu Fabra, and the University of Edinburgh since 2007. She is also a Research Affiliate with CEPR, the LSE's Center for Economic Performance, and IZA. Additionally, she serves as an Elected Executive Committee Member of the European Association of Labour Economists.
