Giacomo De Luca

Giacomo De Luca is a Reader in Economics and Convenor of the Exam Board (Pre-Honours) at The University of Edinburgh, Department of Economics. His research interests include Political Economy, Economic Growth, and Development. De Luca studied Politics at the University of Turin, and Economics at the Catholic University of Louvain and the University of Namur. He previously held academic positions at the Catholic University of Leuven (KUL), the University of York, and the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano before joining Edinburgh in 2025. His current research focuses on Political Economics, Development Economics, Crime, Health, Conflict, and Institutions.
