Richard Lazenby

Dr. Richard Lazenby is Professor Emeritus of Anthropology at UNBC. Dr. Lazenby is a Founding Faculty member of the University, arriving in 1994 and retiring in 2018. He received his doctorate in Biological Anthropology in 1992 from McMaster University. He is a past President of the Canadian Association for Biological Anthropology (formerly Physical Anthropology). Dr. Lazenby practiced as a forensic anthropologist in British Columbia for over 4 decades, assisting the B.C. Coroners Service and the RCMP in the investigation of found human (and non-human) remains. He was co-lead with the Missing Women’s Task Force in the Pickton Farm investigation in 2002 to 2004. Dr. Lazenby is a Founding member of the Northern Medical Program at UNBC and currently serves as Course Director for the Flexible Enhanced Learning course.
